bmx blood. Ouch!

Well it was bound to happen eventually with our little risk taker. He is learning all sorts of new bmx moves and as a result loosing some most precious skin. First up was Friday's event. He was trying to manual a bump on our sidewalk, which in bmx language means ride a wheelie. That didn't go as planned and he ended up with a fat, bloody lip and a small scratch on his chin.

Then next up was tonight's major crash on the bmx track. We are not even sure what happened.  The next thing we know he was flipping off the table top, clipped in no less. NOT good. So his minor scratch is now a major bummer. BUT being the bike lover he is he wanted to finish, so he was back out there for race two with tears in his eyes. And by race 3 you would never know he had an incident... until you looked at his face. I have a feeling this is only the beginning....sigh. I will not hold my child back if he is up for it, no matter how hard it is on me. Sick or battered, if he wants to ride. We ride. It's part of who he is.

Tired and ready for bed at 9:30, but good as new.

And look what my track bucks bought me! Life is good.

Wow! Don't tell him that Dea decided I hadn't been on a good ride unless I came back with a little blood showing. Looks like a good one Braedyn. But Ouch!
