Clams

We thought we'd give clams a try one night and didn't have real high expectations for Braedyn eating them. Boy were we wrong, what actually happened was that mom and dad didn't get to eat barely any because some 3 year old loved them so much that he cleared off the entire pot of them. He had so much fun forking them out of the shell too.

 

Rasberries

Colorado brings nice, big, fat, juicy rasberries growing in Grandma and Grandpa's garden. Braedyn made sure that no ripe ones got left for the birds.

 
 

Brownies

Braedyn helped out with making Brownies the other night. He mostly likes to sample each step of the process. This time he finally got up the nerve to lick the beaters, I think he always thought they would beat his tounge, but now he knows that there is nothing but goodness on those things!

Valentine's Party

Braedyn was invited to a Valentine's party and had a blast. There were a lot of kids there and all kinds of games to play, but the thing that he remembered the most was decorating his own cookie and then eating it.

Christmas Cookies

Well it's become a mini tradition, but it is one of Braedyn's favorites.... baking Christmas cookies. This year he has really been enjoying "helping" mommy & daddy cook them. His notion of helping is to sample each of the ingredients as they go in the bowl, especially the sugar and flour. He did help hold the mixer and then did most of the sprinkles once we had frosting on them. If you try one, don't worry about all the little finger lines of missing frosting, his hands were pretty clean!

CrushCakes

There have been a lot of special treats this week what with Braedyn doing so well with his potty training. On Saturday on our way home from a store in Santa Barbara we stopped off at a locally famous spot called Crushcakes Cupcakery for none other than cupcakes. These cupcakes were certainly worth getting lost for, even though we we're parked about 100 yds from it before getting lost!

Ooba's

One of our family traditions is to go swimming at the Pro Club on Friday evenings and then head to downtown Redmond and go to Ooba's for some mexican food. Braedyn has come to really like the food there and will actually sit and eat most of it. With the nice summer days here lately we've taken to riding our bikes to Ooba's along the Sammamish River trail. With our upcoming move, Ooba's will be one of the things that we really miss about Redmond.


 

Making Cookies

Yummm, Tomato

I sat Braedyn up on the counter to give him his vitamin, he was playing around with a bag of tomatoes as I turned to get the vitamins and when I came back to him he had just started into chowing down on one of them. He had another one in his other hand that he wanted to bite into as well, but we told him to eat the one he had first. This is not the first time that we've had to limit him from vegetables... I thought toddlers were supposed to throw fits when they were given vegetables?!?!?

Radishes

This kid loves radishes, he always has. But these ones are extra special. Braedyn helped build the garden in our back yard, planted the radish seeds, anxiously watched them grow for weeks (pulling a lot of them out just to see if anything was down there yet), then picked these radishes, carried them inside, washed them and ate them! Now every day when we've been playing outside, the only way to coaxe him inside without a fit is to let him go pick some radishes and go inside to clean and eat them.

Blueberries

Drinking

Braedyn is graduating to real cups for drinking out of. Most of the time he does really pretty well and only spills a couple of drops, other times the whole thing is on the floor... He's slowly picking it up though, poor Dori has been getting milk baths pretty much every day lately.

Ice Cream

We couldn't shelter our child for much longer. He was bound to discover that there was more to eat in this world than vegetables, oatmeal, eggs, and pancakes! Okay, he's had ice cream before, but the way he dug into this bowl, one would think that he had either just discovered the wonders of sugar or had been starved for weeks before heading to Coldstone. The reality is that Braedyn may just have inherited a certain type of tooth from his mother, a sweet tooth. Hey Braedyn, Mommy is getting her sweet tooth drilled out of her mouth next week because she ate too much ice cream!

Spoons

Braedyn has been working on eating using a spoon all by himself. It ends up being pretty messy and more probably gets everywhere but inside his mouth, but he shure loves it and a lot of times won't even let us feed haim anymore.

Popcorn
