Butterfly Park Hike

The day after Christmas we headed out for a nice hike in a butterfly preserve in Santa Barbara. Unfrtunately we never saw any butterflies, but we still had a wonderful day hiking and exploring.

 
 
 
 

Christmas

The holidays just show how behind we are on blogging.... We had a wonderful Christmas together as a family. We spent our time at home in Carpinteria, baking cookies, hanging out with friends and just enjoying being together. Braedyn got lots of fun gifts from everyone including some cool puzzles and lots of other stuff. Merry Christmas to everyone, just a little late...

 
 
 
 

Christmas

We had more fun decorating cookies, and Braedyn got to open an early present. Then there was more Christmas singing. This kid loves his Jingle Bells song and all music in general (can you tell?)!!

 
 
 

Christmas Time

We've been baking lots of cookies and decorating them and taking them around to the neighbors. Braedyn has been getting some more sugar than normal... He's been enjoying Christmas this year and is eagerly anticipating Christmas morning. He's been learning lots of new Christmas songs as well. Here is a rendition of Jingle Bells on the Drums.

 
 
 

Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving day close to home this year. The weather was so perfect that we headed to the beach to catch soak up some sunshine and enjoy the day. Later on we headed over to our friends house for a feast.

The rocket shooter is still a favorite toy around here. We took it to the beach today and built a rocket launch pad for it.

Pumpkins

On our trip to Iowa, Braedyn had gone to the store with Mema and bought a pumpkin. So when we got home he just felt like we needed to have some pumpkins to decorate our front porch with. So we headed on down to the local, Carpinteria pumpkin patch and picked out a few.

Easter Church Service

Easter morning we headed to Carpinteria High School for the Reality Easet service. There were a ton of people there. After the service they served a taco lunch, had bouncy castles a dunk tank and sno cones as well as some more live music, so we spent most of the day there and had a lot of fun.

 
 
 

Happy Easter

Happy Easter everyone. We had a nice Easter weekend here with not a lot going on. Sunday morning, Braedyn got a little Easter basket and a new outfit (pictured here) and then we headed off to the Easter service at Reality which was held outdoors at the local high school. They had lots of fun bouncy castles and good food afterwards so it was a hit with Braedyn. We were able to snap this family picture before everyone got dirty!

 

Bunnies

At the Valentine's Party there were some bunny rabbits that Braedyn had a lot of fun playing with. The pre-school he'll be starting at also has a couple of bunnies, and he's already mentioned getting one at home on a few ocasions. We'll have to see about that...

 
 

Valentine's Party

Braedyn was invited to a Valentine's party and had a blast. There were a lot of kids there and all kinds of games to play, but the thing that he remembered the most was decorating his own cookie and then eating it.

 
 

Wisconsin Dells

Braedyn really had a lot of fun playing with Elisabeth, Nicholas and Joshua.

Wisconsin Dells

As part of our trip to Iowa at Christmas this year we headed up to Wisconsin Dells to a large waterpark themed hotel. They had 3 large indoor waterparks and some snowy looking outdoor ones as well. There were also a bunch of other fun things to do there so it was a lot of fun. We went with Mema and Papa, Isaac and Jana, and Tony and Tricia with their kids. We stayed for 3 days and got to get really nice and wet and just enjoy playing around even though it was really cold outside!

It was nice to be with family over the holidays in Iowa. Braedyn's great grandma was around for some of the festivities so we were able to get some family photos while we were there.
