Parade Lap

One of Braedyn's favorite things about BMX'ing is the pre-race parade lap. They play the national anthem as all the kids ride slowly around the track behind someone carrying the flag. It is just about the highlight of every race for Braedyn.
 
 

Mountain Biking

We did a couple of fun starter mountain bike rides at Ellings Park in Santa Barbara. Braedyn had a blast on these but certainly loved the jumps the most.

 
 
 

Bike Ride

On Thanksgiving day, Braedyn and Daddy took a nice long bike ride (14 miles) from Ojai down to the beach in Ventura. It was loads of fun and there were tons of jumps and places to explore along the way. Braedyn did great on his first "long distance" bike ride.

A couple nights before Christmas we went for a evening ride along the beach to watch the sunset.

 

Boys Weekend

Mom ditched us for a few days to go hang out with her friend Nicole. We started the Boys weekend off by taking our bikes on the train down to Ventura for the afternoon. We rode all along the beach in Ventura and out on the pier. It was lots of fun. We caught the train back to Carpinteria and then went out for corndogs and ice cream!

Riding to School

Braedyn rode his own bike all the way to school the other day! I think the trail-a-bike might have been a short lived toy.

 
 
 

First Day of School

We recently headed out for Braedyn's first day of pre-school. The School is Lou Grant Parent Child Workshop and is a little co-op pre-school just a few blocks from our house. We've been riding bikes to school and Braedyn has really been enjoying that. He really likes this school as he gets to choose what he wants to do for most of the day. Mom and Dad trade off working one day a week and Braedyn gets to go 3 days a week.

 
 
 

Look mom, I can ride all by myself

We took the training wheels off of his bike a couple weeks ago and if Mom and Dad hadn't been so scared it wouldn't have taken so long to learn to ride. Now Braedyn doesn't even need anyone to help him start off or stop and can go all throughout our neighborhood without falling.
