The water is so clean in the creeks in Boulder, CO. Boulder may be known for being a bit over the top with all their crunchy environmentalists and such laws, but at least their water is clean. Some lady was even giving it to her kid to drink. Now I definitely would not go that far, but they are impressively clean. When the creeks flow out into the ocean after a big rain in Carp they recommend you don't surf or swim until the crud clears out. Just a comparison.
We took a trip to Boulder, Co to visit friends and get reacquainted with the area. We had AWESOME weather and really enjoyed our trip. We got in some hiking, creek walking, rock throwing, great food, and good times with friends.
We drive by pumpkin hill on all our jonts down to Freedoms park bmx so a few weeks ago we decided to stop in a buy us a pumpkin to carve. Braedyn wanted the $50 dollar pumpkin, but we opted for the $12 dollar one instead.
Newest trick. Stairs. This was Braedyn's idea; I was hesitant, but he managed just fine. I am starting to think a full face helmet may be a better option for him even when not at the bmx track. It amazes me this kid has yet to break a bone or knock out teeth.
Braedyn got invited to Jackson's birthday party at the bmx track. For party favors the mom, Michelle, handed out mini trophy's with Jackson's name and age engraved. Very cute idea. The kids love their trophy's no matter how they get them!
Mall stop, for mom, of course, in Orange county on the way home from San Diego.
This is what we came home to after our trip to San Diego. No driveway and one car blocked in. With the help of a neighbor we crossed some yellow tape and got our car out of the driveway. But unloading the vacation car from across the street was not the easiest way to do it.
At least Braedyn had a cool tractor to check out while we unloaded the car.
Daddy and Braedyn rented a sea kayak for the afternoon to get a closer look at Mission Bay. I took this picture from our hotel balcony where I was enjoying a relaxing afternoon alone.
Morning practise run in the fog. They only got to practise by age group for 15 minutes so we had to be there at 8am if Braedyn wanted practise time on the track before his races.
Olympic training track for bmx. (start gate ramp).
We tried to plan our trip to San Diego so Braedyn could race in the Nationals at the Olympic Training Center. We only went for 1 day (they were going for 4), but Braedyn had a great time seeing what a HUGE race was like. Their were over 200 mottos so we had lots of time to relax and eat slushies and kettle corn between races. Braedyn made it to the semi-finals in the 5 and under class.
