At the farm

We took Connor and Braedyn out to MeMa and Papa's farm in Vinton, IA. Some day they will actually get to live on this peaceful setting but for now it's fun to go ride 4 wheelers, roast marshmallows, dig in the garden, and play in the stream.

Curious George Live

While visiting MeMa and Papa in Iowa we checked out Curious George Live. Braedyn invited his buddy Connor along. The boys had a good time seeing curious George on stage and not on a page.

the girl next door

Braedyn received his first love letters from the girl next door. Complete with a phone number! He was instructed to head over and give the proper "thanks for the cool pictures, I really like them", which he gladly did. She was shy and.... a bit disappointed he did not draw her a picture. They are only three and five, but there interaction was cute even if Braedyn was clueless. Boys!

Grandma Great

Braedyn's Great Grandma Brandt was pretty sick so we spent some time at the hospital visiting her. Braedyn didn't mind too much as there was a lot of family around that paid lots of attention to him and the he could show off to.

 
 
 

Off to Iowa

6:00AM flight from Santa Barbara to Iowa, not even the coffee shop was open yet! We made it safely and then all went to bed early that night.

 

Avocado Festival

Last weekend was the California Avocado Festival in Carpinteria. We only got to go for a short time on Friday evening as we had an early morning flight on Sat. We got to watch a few bands and munch some good guacamole before heading home for an early night to bed.

 

Riding to School

Braedyn rode his own bike all the way to school the other day! I think the trail-a-bike might have been a short lived toy.

 
 
 

Bluff Buggies

Braedyn and his friend Matty have matching 4 wheeler buggies and have been going "4 wheelin" out on the bluff's trails at the beach by our house.

 
 
 

First Day of School

We recently headed out for Braedyn's first day of pre-school. The School is Lou Grant Parent Child Workshop and is a little co-op pre-school just a few blocks from our house. We've been riding bikes to school and Braedyn has really been enjoying that. He really likes this school as he gets to choose what he wants to do for most of the day. Mom and Dad trade off working one day a week and Braedyn gets to go 3 days a week.

 
 
 

Buggy

The buggy is a hit with all little kids. Braedyn's friend Ely came over with his dad for dinner one evening and the boys had fun cruising the buggy around the back yard.

 

Look mom, I can ride all by myself

We took the training wheels off of his bike a couple weeks ago and if Mom and Dad hadn't been so scared it wouldn't have taken so long to learn to ride. Now Braedyn doesn't even need anyone to help him start off or stop and can go all throughout our neighborhood without falling. Braedyn's new room

Well we have a new camera finally, the one I ordered awhile back was backordered forever.... Mostly just testing it out here, but these are some shots of Braedyn's room with all of his space stickers and new paint job.

School

School is starting up next week! We had a school picnic to meet everyone last week at the Summerland beach park. We grilled food and the kid's played while the parents chatted. It was fun for everyone and we're really excited about the upcoming school year.
