Carkeek Park, Seattle

Saturday was absolutely gorgeous. 70 degrees and sunny. So we headed out for a sampling of some more local parks. Carkeek park was recommended as a great park for kids. It has everything Braedyn could ever want: A large beach on the Puget Sound with sand, rocks, mud and water; a large playground with slides, rock structures to climb on, and wide open fields; and finally a bridge over a railroad track that has lots of trains going by at high speed! For parents its also great as there are nice logs laying around to relax on and an easy view of wherever your kid might roam to, there are awesome views of the Olympic mountains over the sound, and a host of friendly parents haning around.

We weren't the only ones in Seattle that knew about this park, it was packed with kids of all ages out enjoying the perfect weather. We spent a couple hours at the beach park playing with Isaiah (a friend of co-worker Ying), getting wet and dirty and throwing rocks in the water. Then we attempted to leave to go sit at a coffee shop for lunch, but when Braedyn caught sight of the playground there was no leaving until it had been explored.
