First day of Kindergarten at Bear Creek Elementary in Boulder, CO

Braedyn's elementary school is 2 blocks away and the weather is mild enough in Boulder, in the winter, that we plan to continue on the tradition of biking to school. We are not the only ones who use alternative forms of transportation to get to school. It is sidewalk madness before and after school. I suppose that's Boulder for you. Most kids seem to walk, bike, skateboard or scooter to school. I've never seen so many bike trailers in a parking lot.

In route to Kindergarten.

Lining up in the WRONG line to go into the WRONG kindergarten class. We were suppose to be around the corner. oops. Way to many lines to choose from. When I went to school there was one K line and one teacher.

So far Braedyn tells me his favorite parts of school are PE in the gym; he loves the rock wall and basketball hoops that are low enough for him to make shots in, the music room, choice time and, of course, recess. Bear Creek is a magnet school so although they teach it all, the focus is on math, music, and science. All areas Braedyn shows a lot of interest, which is way we wanted to be in this district. He's got his daddy's problem solving brain. Looking forward to a good year.

Iowa 2011

View from the front porch

Hole 10

Gotta feed those birds

And of course we HAD to squeeze in a few rounds of putt putt in Vinton!

Victims of Frisbee golf at my parent's 40th anniversary party. It was also my dad's 60th birthday. Good reasons to party.

IOWA 2011

My mom and dad finally built their dream house out on a 80 acre farm in Vinton, Iowa. Complete with machine sheds, four wheelers, streams, and gardens. Braedyn digs it.

Fueling it up to take it for a spin.

My mom and Braedyn heading to the creek.

My favorite room in the house.

My dad and Braedyn built a frisbee golf course with tree trunk discs to mark the holes. It was a BIG hit with Braedyn.

Mutton Busting in Fraiser, CO

Braedyn really wanted to try mutton busting at the rodeo. After watching several kids get thrown off sheep he still wanted to give it a go, but it ended in tears and once was enough of that. I really don't know what Braedyn was thinking. Maybe he thought HE would be uber strong from all that downhilling and would be able to hold on better than most... but he was wrong. The sheep seemed to fair much better than the kids.
