More Lincoln Park pictures. This is a small playground near the beach. On our hike out we stumbled across a much bigger playground and even though Braedyn was tired we still had to stop to hit the slide a few times.
A slideshow of more of the pictures. You can also view them in a larger size.

Lincoln Park
Another perfect day in Seattle (we do have them on occassion). We headed out to Lincoln Park in West Seattle. There is some great hiking there through thick forest and then an absolutely perfect beach front park. Lots of rocks, ferry boats going by and nice paths. There is even a salt water public swimming pool there, it wasn't open for the season yet though. We had a nice walk to the beach and then spent some time picking up sticks and rocks. We tried to fly our kite that we just got, but the wind was a little on the light side. After that we headed to a little playground and sat around in the sun eating a picnic lunch.

Tiny Treks Week 2

Swimming
We head to the pool every Friday and Sunday evening so that Braedyn can get in some swim time. He has really been enjoying it lately and is gettin a lot more comfortable in the water. His favorite thing to do is to climb out using the ladder and then jump back in to daddy. This week we decided to try him in some new goggles.

Tiny Treks
Braedyn and Daddy are signed up for Tiny Treks with the Redmond Parks and Recreation on Thursday mornings. It is lots of fun for Braedyn as it is outside and in the woods and there are plenty of opportunities to throw rocks and pick up sticks. This week we were at Farrel-McWhirter Park in Redmond for a hike through the woods and a stop off to see the animals at the farm. Braedyn got to make his own set of binoculars first and sing some fun songs.

Gardening
Since the weather cooperated last weekend we got a few of our seeds in the ground (hopefully the snow this week won't kill them off). Braedyn really enjoyed dropping the seeds into the holes and then covering them up with dirt and then stomping on them with his boots! He's been so excited by the seeds we started indoors that it will be exciting once these start popping up in a couple weeks. This weekend included planting corn and beans. Lots more to go once the weather gets nice again...

Carkeek Park, Seattle
Saturday was absolutely gorgeous. 70 degrees and sunny. So we headed out for a sampling of some more local parks. Carkeek park was recommended as a great park for kids. It has everything Braedyn could ever want: A large beach on the Puget Sound with sand, rocks, mud and water; a large playground with slides, rock structures to climb on, and wide open fields; and finally a bridge over a railroad track that has lots of trains going by at high speed! For parents its also great as there are nice logs laying around to relax on and an easy view of wherever your kid might roam to, there are awesome views of the Olympic mountains over the sound, and a host of friendly parents haning around.
We weren't the only ones in Seattle that knew about this park, it was packed with kids of all ages out enjoying the perfect weather. We spent a couple hours at the beach park playing with Isaiah (a friend of co-worker Ying), getting wet and dirty and throwing rocks in the water. Then we attempted to leave to go sit at a coffee shop for lunch, but when Braedyn caught sight of the playground there was no leaving until it had been explored.
