Camping

Braedyn and daddy have been getting away on some overnighter camping trips just for the fun of it. Mix in hot dogs, marshmallows, and bike riding and life is sweet.

Mountain Biking

With our upcoming move to Boulder, CO we have been selling off our beach cruisers and stocking up our mountain bike collection. We hope to spend a good portion of the summer in Winter Park, CO. Mike and Braedyn have been going out on some local trail rides so Braedyn is geared up and ready for trestles bike park and solvista bike park in Winter Park. It's not bmx, but it involves a bike, which Braedyn LOVES , so I think it's going to be a fast and fabulous summer! http://www.trestlebikepark.com/ and http://www.granbyranch.com/bike.html

V Town beach park

Braedyn and I went down to Ventura to meet daddy for lunch. The pier has a great taco joint that's walking distance from Mike's work.

Carpinteria TBall

Braedyn signed up for T-ball this year but only lasted a few games before deciding the BMX was a lot more interesteing. Braedyn and daddy still go practice t-ball in the front yard, but playing with a bunch of other kids is just a little too slow moving.

Bmx sunsets

Freedom Park BMX track has been one of the places that has sort of become a second home to us of late. And the people we know there have become our little BMX family. We've been really blessed to get to know so many great families from the BMX community around here. We spend at least 3 nights a week at Freedom Park which is essentially a pile of dirt in a barren lot next to an airport surrounded by farms. So there isn't much to look at there most of the time. But every night at the time the sun starts to hit the horizon, we're blessed with some of the most amazing sunsets. The IPhone camera just doesn't do them justice, but believe me they are gorgeous! Michael snapped one that even made it into the back inside cover of the latest BMX magazine.

Rock climbing gym in Ventura

And if you fall it's a nice little swing, sort of.

Rock climbing gym in Ventura

It's been a little rainy here in coastal California so bmx has been on hold. One of Mike's favorite sports years past was rock climbing so he wanted to introduce the sport to Braedyn. Brae really liked it and had no fear of heights. He just climbed right on up the wall like he did it yesterday. I'm sure this will be something they will do more of living in CO as there is tons of rock climbing near Boulder.

Roping up

Up he goes

Half way there

Very excited yells coming from the top of his world.

Bicycle pancakes

Someones a little obsessed! Most kids his age ask for mickey mouse or something of the likes, but Braedyn wanted a bicycle pancake for breakfast. I thought it turned out picture worthy.

T ball

Well T ball didn't last long for Braedyn. We gave it a try because he really wanted to play last year, but wasn't old enough. Way to slow moving for this kid right now. I guess we started with to exciting of a sport. Bmx is where it's at for him. Just can't tear him away from his bike long enough to sit on a bench for 20 minutes to hit a ball twice. He loves to hit balls with dad, but that's most likely because it can be a non stop action sport.
