Braedyn rode his own bike all the way to school the other day! I think the trail-a-bike might have been a short lived toy.

 
 
 

Bluff Buggies

Braedyn and his friend Matty have matching 4 wheeler buggies and have been going "4 wheelin" out on the bluff's trails at the beach by our house.

 
 
 

First Day of School

We recently headed out for Braedyn's first day of pre-school. The School is Lou Grant Parent Child Workshop and is a little co-op pre-school just a few blocks from our house. We've been riding bikes to school and Braedyn has really been enjoying that. He really likes this school as he gets to choose what he wants to do for most of the day. Mom and Dad trade off working one day a week and Braedyn gets to go 3 days a week.

 
 
 

Buggy

The buggy is a hit with all little kids. Braedyn's friend Ely came over with his dad for dinner one evening and the boys had fun cruising the buggy around the back yard.

 

Look mom, I can ride all by myself

We took the training wheels off of his bike a couple weeks ago and if Mom and Dad hadn't been so scared it wouldn't have taken so long to learn to ride. Now Braedyn doesn't even need anyone to help him start off or stop and can go all throughout our neighborhood without falling. Well we have a new camera finally, the one I ordered awhile back was backordered forever.... Mostly just testing it out here, but these are some shots of Braedyn's room with all of his space stickers and new paint job.

Swimming

School

School is starting up next week! We had a school picnic to meet everyone last week at the Summerland beach park. We grilled food and the kid's played while the parents chatted. It was fun for everyone and we're really excited about the upcoming school year.

 

Moving

Well the blogging has been a little sparse lately as we've been in the process of moving all the way to the other side of town (2 miles away). We're finally getting settled in, unpacked, and everything put away and hung up. We're a lot closer in to town now which makes the walkability factor a little nicer. It's 2 blocks to the beach, 2 blocks to the grocery store, 3 blocks to the farmers market, 3 blocks to Braedyn's new school, 3 blocks to church, 100 yds to Michael's office, and 200 yds to starbucks. The neighborhood is really nice also, lots of kids around and really friendly people so we're pretty excited about things and looking forward to living here.

Ventura County Fair

We headed down to Ventura for the county fair a couple weekends ago. Braedyn really like fairs and rides and the nasty food there. We spent a few hours there checking out the exhibits (especially the model train exhibit) and riding rides. He was certainly tired out by the time we left.

Free Pictures

Last weekend at our church, Reality, a young man by the name of Justin Miller came up to Talisha and asked if he could take some pictures of Braedyn for his portfollio he was putting together for a class at Brooks Insitute. A rather well know photography school around the country which is located here in Santa Barbara, CA. Of course she agreed and we got several free prints and a fun morning at the all too favorite location of Braedyn, the beach. This was quite a surprising blessing because we had just been discussing finding a photographer to do an outside location for us of Braedyn since we hadn't done so since he was a baby. But with the big upcoming life changes in our future we decided our budget could really do without. It's not like we dont' take a lot of picture of him anyway. This was a pleasant surprise and reminder that God even looks out for the little things of our hearts desire.

Nite Moves

Michael has been running the Santa Barbara Nite Moves weekly race series for most of the summer. It is a Wednesday night 5k timed run. The series is coming to a close in the next few weeks and with that they have begun posting the series rankings. I was quite surprised to find my name in first place in my age category. I guess getting older is finally paying off for me...
