I've been looking at them for a couple of years and we finally got to test ride one at a new bike shop in Santa Barbara. They're a little pricey so it may be awhile before we break down and buy one, but the Bakfeit bike is a pretty cool contraption!

Secret Fort

On the property we live on there is a large field with lots of tall grass and trees. Braedyn has discovered a few little secret forts in the grass that he can go back into and play in.

 

Tricycle

Braedyn is quite proficient at pedaling his tricycle these days and has been making his official request for a real bike with training wheels.

Santa Barbara Jesusita Fire

There was another large fire last week near Santa Barbara that burned about 8700 acres of the mountains behind Santa Barbara. It also burned quite a few homes, and as it got closer into town large portions of downtown SB were evacuated. Many people that I work with lived very close to where the fire came but their houses were saved by the many firefighters that came.

Zoo Day

With Adam here we headed to the Santa Barbara Zoo for the day. Braedyn and Adam had a blast together.

 
 
 
 

Rincon

We headed out to Rincon beach for some playtime after church on Sunday. The two boys had a lot of fun together.

Singing away the Flu

Tonya, Jeremy and Adam Sing came out for a last minute visit when their Mexico plans got nixxed by the Swine Flu. They hung out with us for a couple days and got to enjoy the sites of our sleepy Carpinteria town before they headed up to their hotel outside of Santa Barbara. They'll be back this week and Braedyn cannot wait, he talks about Adam non stop and keeps asking when Adam can sleep over again.

Botanic Gardens

We took Mema and Papa to see the Santa Barbara Botanic Gardens. We spent most of the time at Braedyn's favorite spot on the stream, throwing rocks and climbing around.

Mema & Papa visit

Mema and Papa were out for another visit this past week and got to spend a lot of quality time with Braedyn. Mom and dad skipped town for a couple days to have a nice weekend away.

Dead Camera

If you've been wondering why it seems that our blogging has been slowing doewn lately, it's not due to a waning interest, it can mostly be attributed to a lack of pictures due to a broken camera. That's right, our camera has officially bitten the dust. It's probably a combination of getting old, a little too much sand, and Braedyn's growing interest in taking pictures that killed it off, but it doesn't work. We have a new one on order that I've been eyeing for a while, so we should be back in business again soon. This new one boasts 10.1 MP and a High Definition video recording feature, so be prepared for some better quality coming soon. I've been happy enough with Panasonic cameras that this will be our 5th Panasonic digital camera we have owned. You can check it out here.

Santa Barbara Fair

We headed out to the Santa Barbara Fair on Thursday evening for a fun filled time of roller coasters and spinny rides. Braeydn had constant ear to ear grin on his face except when he was stuffing down a healthy dinner of corndogs and funnel cakes! Mema and Daddy went on the rides with him and mostly felt sick and dizzy all night, but we all had fun none the less.
