Hiking Cont'd

More of our hike at St Edwards State Park. We made it down to the beach which had some nice rocks and sticks for throwing. We even got to watch a sea plan land pretty close, that was pretty cool! The wind was a little cold so we headed back after a little while and went for lunch at Oobas.

Hiking

Saturday was a little cold and wet, but we still were able to make it out to a local park. This time we went exploring and headed to St Edwards State Park, which is in Kirkland and on Lake Washington. Part of the park used to be a Catholic seminary or something like that. But there is a really pretty hike, about a mile, down to the water. It was especially pretty now that all the trees are starting to bud which makes it even greener than it already was.

Gardening

Braedyn was so excited today to see that the seeds we planted indoors had sprouted! He wanted to make sure they got watered again and kept wanting to show mommy and daddy the new plants.

Rocks in the Beach

We had told Braedyn that we were hiking down to the beach. The whole hike down to the water he kept asking to throw rocks in the beach. It certainly made him happy to see that the entire beach was made up of rocks!

Hiking

With friends in town we took Monday to go do a nice little hike on Bainbridge Island. After a short ferry ride and a quick stop for lunch we headed out on a 2 mile walk down to a really nice, rocky beach on the sound. It was a perfect day with cooler temps but lots of sunshine. And there were tons of rocks to be thrown in.

A Night on the Town

More like a night with a view of town. We had a babysitter and went out for a nice dinner with Jon and Heather to a favorit restaurant of ours with a nice view of Seattle from across the water.

SNOW!

Jon and Heather came to visit from Colorado and brought some cold weather with them which caused the rain here to turn to snow. Braedyn of course was grateful and immediately wanted to go play in the snow.

Itsy Bitsy Spider

Each night before bed, while he's getting ready, Braedyn gets a rendition of the itsy bitsy spider crawling up his shirt. He laughs his head off saying "No Tickles", and as soon as daddo stops it's "More Tickles..."

Drinking

Braedyn is graduating to real cups for drinking out of. Most of the time he does really pretty well and only spills a couple of drops, other times the whole thing is on the floor... He's slowly picking it up though, poor Dori has been getting milk baths pretty much every day lately.

Ice Cream

We couldn't shelter our child for much longer. He was bound to discover that there was more to eat in this world than vegetables, oatmeal, eggs, and pancakes! Okay, he's had ice cream before, but the way he dug into this bowl, one would think that he had either just discovered the wonders of sugar or had been starved for weeks before heading to Coldstone. The reality is that Braedyn may just have inherited a certain type of tooth from his mother, a sweet tooth. Hey Braedyn, Mommy is getting her sweet tooth drilled out of her mouth next week because she ate too much ice cream!

The rain isn't all bad...

Ya, everyone complains about the rain in the Pacific Northwest, and we certainly get our share of it. But when you're two years old there is always an upside to everything. In the case of our favorite kid, that upside happens to be mud and puddles.

Pancake Fields Garden

Spring is in the air and we're beginning to put in a small container garden in our yard so that we can enjoy some fresh veggies this summer. Braedyn has been out helping daddo regularly with the removal of grass, building containers, adding dirt, and by far his favorite, putting down rocks for the paths. The last container will go in this weekend, the seeds have been ordered and the soil is getting turned. Even though we won't be able to plant pancakes as Braedyn has requested, we plan to have some herbs, onions, spinach, carrots, radishes, tomatoes, beans, bell peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, and corn. MMMMMM, I can taste them already....
