hiking

We took a short hike (after a long ferry ride) near Bremertonthis past weekend. We hiked at Theler Wetlands on the South Tidal Marsh trail. This consists of bit of walking on an elevated boardwalk for a while out to a nice little overlook.

Here is a Whale skeleton at the exhibit building.

I certainly can't tell if this is Alexandra or Isabella posing for the camera but I know it's one of them, they're both cute!

Weekend Trip

We took a weekend trip up near North Cascades National Park with friends Rob and Kellie and their twin girls (their blog). We stayed at a nice little cabin outside of Winthrop, WA for a couple of nights and just relaxed and enjoyed the scenery. Mike and Rob got in a morning of Spring backcountry skiing on Saturday and then we got to hang out at some friends of Kellie's, who have a nice place on the river there, for a BBQ.

Here's Talisha and the squirt posing for some pictures with the nice scenery in the background.

Slides

Braedyn getting some lessons on the slide at Grandma and Grandpa's house in Iowa.

He liked it so much in Iowa that he didn't need any help once he found himself a slide back home in Washington.

Also affectionately known as Grandma Phone...

Iowa

Mommy and Braedyn left dad at home and headed back to Iowa to see some friends and family last week. Here are a few pictures from their trip

Bike Ride

We finally received some of our things from the movers, including our bikes. So, since today was a relatively nice day out, we went for a little family ride. After getting a helmet for the little guy, we rode along the Sammamish river trail in Redmond for a while.

ummm, mom, stop looking at the camera, I'm about to fall out of this thing....
This is quite possibly the longest Braedyn has ever sat still.

Swimming Class

Braedyn had his first swim class at the Pro Club in Redmond today. He had a blast for about the first 20 minutes then decided that he would rather be doing something else. But he did manage to pick up the breast stroke, butterfly, and almost landed a reverse double filp with a twist. Ok, maybe not, but he did get to sing some fun songs and kick his legs and splash daddy and throw toys at the instructor!

Here's daddy and Braedyn posing for a shot.

This was the humpty dumpty game, we sang humpty dumpty and then fell into the water at the count of 3 (with daddy holding on of course).

Hucking Rocks

Heading home after a long afternoon at the park...

That's Braedyn standing up all on his own in the grass. He isn't real sure about the feel of grass yet so he would rather stand than let the stuff poke his little legs and hands. The dog in this picture was apparently attention deprived because it just meandered up to us and then layed down and rolled over for a tummy scratch. His rolling over just about took Braedyn out, but Braedyn thought it was funny anyhow.

Standing next to mommy picking blades of grass to give to mommy as a special present of his gratitude for all she does for him!

Mor park pictures. Here Braedyn and Dori were hanging out in a nice field above the lake just soaking in the sun. We actually had to put sunblock on the kid today!

Park Hopping

It was such a nice day today in Seattle that we decided to continue our quest to visit all of the parks in the greater Seattle area. Today we packed a picnic lunch and headed to Warren G Magnuson park in the shore of Lake Washington in Seattle proper. We had lunch on the lawn near the playground (apparently the largest in Seattle) and then Braedyn got to spend some time playing on all the contraptions. After that Dori got to have her fun at the off leash dog park, they actually have a separate area for "small and shy" dogs. She didn't like it very much, all the dogs surrounded her and tried to sniff her butt, just a little too much action there for her.
