Hiking. San Diego.

Mike and Pete loaded up ALL the kids to go hiking so Nicole and I could have a day to ourselves. Shopping, kid free, was first on the list.

San Diego. I love my bears.

No matter where we go, Braedyn's bears are the first to be packed.

Couch fun. San Diego

Good pictures are impossible, but.... we tried. We decided this is much more realistic anyway.

Back in the day. (San Diego Trip)

Nicole and I go back at least decade or so. We were college roommates in CO before either of us were married with kids. Now we both have crazy, busy lives. Hers more than mine with twin 3 year olds and a nearly two year old, but we've maintained our friendship through it all.

San Diego Trip

We headed down to San Diego for the Nationals in Chula Vista and to visit some great friends from college days. We stayed in downtown San Diego so we would be closer to our friends since it would be the last time we would get to hang with them before moving back to CO.

Braedyn had a blast racing in the Nationals. And he made his main on Sunday! Making your main in the nationals is a big deal because the competition is fierce. We hope to keep Braedyn in bmx for a couple more years since he loves it so much. At least until he can get into mountain bike racing, which is plentiful in CO. It appears bmx is a much bigger deal in So Cali than in CO. We found one bmx track about 40 minutes out of Boulder that will have to do. CO does have several big bike parks, one of which is in Boulder, so that will fill in the gaps for our little bike lover.

Free ride time.

In all blue on the end, ready for the gate to drop.

2nd from the end in green pants and black top and helmet.

The one in the lead qualifying for the semi's!

All the kids who made their main got a trophy. Braedyn got 7th in the main. He was so proud!

Lou Grant Field Trip to the Beach

Now that Braedyn is in blue group he gets to take field trips once every other week for the last two months of school. This was the first one. None other than to the beach. 10 kids and 4 adults walked over from his preschool. There are certainly many things I will miss about Carp. And walking or riding to the beach from anywhere in Carp is definitely one of them. And what scenery. Mountains on one side and the ocean on the other. Like I said so many things to miss!

A little team work and you can build a city w rocks.
What better way is there to learn, when you are five, than with rocks and sand.

Manualling the table top at Freedoms Park.

Braedyn is getting pretty consistent at manualling lately. Meaning, for non bmxers, he can ride on one wheel across the table top. I don't think I was ever able to ride on one wheel as a kid, across anything!
