Party at Grandma & Grandpa's

On our last night in Colorado we had a little party at Grandma and Grandpa's house. There were lots of friends and family over and it was fun to see them all. It doubled as a birthday part for Grandma and Grandpa as well.

Alpine Slide

Winter Park claims to have the largest Alpine Slide, so we just had to try it out. Braedyn got a free full day pass and everyone else got a one ride pass so we all got to go ride down with him once. He even got to ride his own little cart when he went with Grandpa. He had a ton of fun riding this as well as riding the lift back up to the top.


 
 
 
 

Skate Park

Winter Park has a great little downtown park with a skate park and a climbing wall and lots of stuff to play on. We hung out there a couple of times, even catching a concert one night. Braedyn really enjoyed riding his bike in the skate park and is now lobbying for a skate park in Carpinteria.

 
 
 

More Hiking

Braedyn was a little trooper on our hike and made it pretty much the entire loop around the lake on his own. There was lots of stopping off for rock throwing and taking pictures.

 
 
 
 

Grand Lake Hike

Mema and Papa met us for a morning hike near Grand Lake. It was a perfect day and the scenery was gorgeous.

 
 

 
 

Latigo Ranch

Talisha has an Aunt and Uncle who own a ranch in the mountains between Kremmling and Steamboat Springs. We headed up there one day while we were in Winter Park to see them, Talisha's Grandma and Mema and Papa who were out visiting as well. We had a lot of fun visiting, eating, watching horses, hiking around, playing in the stream, swimming in the pool and lots of other things.

 
 
 

Mountain Biking

Well it was biking while in the mountains at least. We took Braedyn's new bike up to Winter Park and he just loved riding it all around. We also did a bit of swimming at the pool, but it was a little bit on the cold side so we didn't go too often.

 
 

Winter Park

After a few days in the Denver area we headed up to Winter Park for a few days of relaxing in the mountains. The village at Winter Park has really changed since we were there last with a new gondola and lots of new shops and restaurants. We headed to the alpine slide the first day we got there since we'd talked it up to Braedyn so much. He had a blast!

Hiking

Talisha ditched us all on Sunday afternoon to hang out wiht her friend Sandy, so Braedyn, Grandma, Grandpa and Daddy headed out near Eldorado Canyon for a short hike. We didn't get too far as the river is right at the start of the hike so we mostly just walked along, threw rocks in and then ended up jumping in as well.

 
 
 

4th of July

We headed up to the Sing household for a 4th of July party. There were a ton of other kids there and Braedyn just loved playing with them all. It was nice to see some friends from Colorado as well. We decided to forgo the fireworks in favor of getting Braedyn to bed at a decent hour so we headed back to Grandma and Grandpa's a little early.

 

Bike Riding

Braedyn has been wanting a "big boy bike" for quite a while now. Luckily Grandma and Grandpa found a little bike that is just Braedyn's size and had it waiting for him in Colorado. He took to it right away and has been really enjoying it and his only issue is that he wants the training wheels off.
