Itsy Bitsy Spider

Each night before bed, while he's getting ready, Braedyn gets a rendition of the itsy bitsy spider crawling up his shirt. He laughs his head off saying "No Tickles", and as soon as daddo stops it's "More Tickles..."

Drinking

Braedyn is graduating to real cups for drinking out of. Most of the time he does really pretty well and only spills a couple of drops, other times the whole thing is on the floor... He's slowly picking it up though, poor Dori has been getting milk baths pretty much every day lately.

Ice Cream

We couldn't shelter our child for much longer. He was bound to discover that there was more to eat in this world than vegetables, oatmeal, eggs, and pancakes! Okay, he's had ice cream before, but the way he dug into this bowl, one would think that he had either just discovered the wonders of sugar or had been starved for weeks before heading to Coldstone. The reality is that Braedyn may just have inherited a certain type of tooth from his mother, a sweet tooth. Hey Braedyn, Mommy is getting her sweet tooth drilled out of her mouth next week because she ate too much ice cream!

The rain isn't all bad...

Ya, everyone complains about the rain in the Pacific Northwest, and we certainly get our share of it. But when you're two years old there is always an upside to everything. In the case of our favorite kid, that upside happens to be mud and puddles.

Pancake Fields Garden

Spring is in the air and we're beginning to put in a small container garden in our yard so that we can enjoy some fresh veggies this summer. Braedyn has been out helping daddo regularly with the removal of grass, building containers, adding dirt, and by far his favorite, putting down rocks for the paths. The last container will go in this weekend, the seeds have been ordered and the soil is getting turned. Even though we won't be able to plant pancakes as Braedyn has requested, we plan to have some herbs, onions, spinach, carrots, radishes, tomatoes, beans, bell peppers, cucumbers, zucchini, and corn. MMMMMM, I can taste them already....

Dori

Dori is still around even though she doesn't get a lot of press coverage on the blog these days. On this nice day she was enjoying the sun enough to pose for some pictures.

We spent Sunday morning at Meydenbauer Beach Park on Lake Washington in Bellevue for some rock throwing and a nice picnic lunch at the playground.

ABC's

For awhile now Braedyn has known all of his letters if we point them out and ask what they are or if he is just showing us something he sees. But just recently he's been making a good attempt at saying the alphabet.....

Proud of his rocks

For those who frequent this blog, you know that our kid loves rocks, mostly throwing them in to some body of water or carrying them from one place to another. Lately he's taken to wanting to show them off to all the world.

A True Friend

Braedyn would do anything for a friend, he is loyal and fiercly defensive of those he cares about. He would sacrifice his own body to save those that are closest to him. This picture proves it. Twice this week he has tripped while running, and rather than selfishly protect himself, he has held tight to the handlfuls of rocks that he was carrying with him. On Satuday he took a bridge to the lip, and on Sunday he skidded on the sidewalk on his forhead and nose. But we're happy to report that the rocks were not harmed. After a few tears and a little blood, he delivered his friends to their home, at the bottom of the river or lake....
